Got questions regarding the Fit3D Scanner? We are here to answer them.

Is the 3D body scan safe?

The Fit3D Scanner system uses fairly common infrared depth mapping cameras to get the information used to create the Fit3D avatars. The sensor is very similar to the Microsoft Kinect that is used in 10s of millions of households worldwide to play video games or to the technology used in the iPhone for face scanning.

The laser in their systems is controlled by software. Running apps that turn on depth streaming will activate the laser and operate it at a safe level. The Fit3D ProScanner operates with a Class 1 laser.

Conditions including pregnancy, implants, pacemakers, etc. should neither be affected by the scan nor affect the scan results.

What should I wear during the scan?

The scanner maps the surface of the body and reads the fabric as skin; it DOES NOT see through clothing. The circumference measurement will read wrinkles and baggy clothing as excess skin/fat. Even the slightest wrinkles can cause large increases in circumference measurements. As such, you are invited to remove all loose clothing, and wear tight fitting undergarments such as: snug boxer briefs, swimsuit, underwear, short yoga set, sports bra, etc.

Additionally, you must ensure your hair is up and off your neck (buns, high ponytail, etc.) so that the scanner can clearly see your neck (front, side and back) along with your eyes and ears.

How long does the 3D body scan take?

The scanner only takes 45 seconds.

What happens to my data after the scan, do they remain private or are they shared publicly?

The Fit3D Scanner requires you to create a password-protected account. Once your scan is complete, it is safely stored privately in the Fit3D app. It is up to you to decide whether or not you want to share the data with your coach or Nuboxx staff to track your progress and analyze your results.
